circular bolero at rest

see that lovely beach towel? that huge, mella beach towel? the one that i didn't even get to use this summer because i never made it to the beach?

"Summer, summer, summer
Slowly turned into fall
Me and my baby doll
Never went to the beach"
-- the magnetic fields

well, that towel may have never touched the sand but it works well as a way to block my knits. i know that this finished product doesn't look very circular but it hasn't been seamed up yet. this is how it will eventually look: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=45597.0

i followed the original yesterknits pattern, not the subsequent tutorial that this craftster thread produced. the yesterknits pattern, though, in its original form was not very helpful because it was so old. so i took the gauge and the finished measurements of the garment and re-wrote the pattern to be knit up with lamb's pride bulky. yes, i AM capable of math. i'm a programmer and hence am able to multiply, divide, and parse XML using perl (ha!) i plan on putting this into a word doc (maybe a PDF if i can figure out the whole conversion from word doc to PDF thing) and will make it available to those who would like it. i've kept references to the original pattern intact so as not to breach any copyrights. i got it for free in the first place, anyway, even though it was not workable in its original state. give me a few days and i should be able to seam it up, take pictures, and adjust the pattern for distribution.

information on how to contact me for the pattern will follow in a later post. stay tuned!

p.s. the color looks all wonky because some of the fabric parts dried faster than others. that and i had to use a flash because it's STILL fracking raining!!!

How could you forget? I find it funny that you're bragging on your math skills when for the longest time you bragged about not having to take even 1 math course in college! ;-)
