anyone who knows me knows that i really don't care for halloween. it's usually just an excuse for women to dress up all hoochie and pretend like they are always extroverts when they usually are not. that, and the last time i really got dressed up some biatch dumped water on me at a party and i nearly clawed her eyes out. that was close to ten years ago.

it's nice to have a baby now who i can get all costumed out! look what $15 at oldnavy can do for your happiness quota:

my dragon

she was just too darned cute i had to show her off.

in other news, i finished two baby socks. woopee. so exciting i nearly died.

baby socks, under baby shoes

i've been so busy lately. you know how i was going to freelance for work after quitting for 4 to 6 weeks. guess what? i'm still freelancing! this is both good news and bad. good news is that i still get a paycheck and benefits. bad news is there's no time to blog after working and taking care of the peanut all day. i can barely shower (in fact, i'm now showering at night after she goes to bed.) any extra time i may have i've been knitting on the christening gown because i have a solid deadline there.

oh, and family who reads this? no christmas knitting this year. so sorry. i can't handle it.

i leave you with one more peanut pic and the news that i bought 10 skeins of DB pure cashmere on sale at webs. $8.50 a skein! (so much for staying away from rhinebeck so i wouldn't buy yarn.) it's lovely. i can't wait to photograph it and use it.

That costume is too much! She looks so adorable in it. Glad you guys got out for a bit. It was definitely the most fun Halloween I've had in a while!

It's those hooochies at Halloween I despise. SEXY midwife, SEXY girl scout, SEXY library... makes me wanna puke! But kids in costume.. I LOOOOOVE it! Your little one, sooooo cute!

Oh, come on - every year needs a dress-like-a-whore day.
:-)
Peanut is adorable as a peanut-sized dragon. Very cute costume. The cahsmere seems like a great buy! Any idea what you'll make?

I agree with you on the Slutoween thing... It's impossible to find non-slutty costumes in a store! But I admit that I do love dressing up, especially if there's fake blood involved :)
Peanut looks like a happy little dragon!

I'm so glad that there are other adults who don't particularly get like dressing up for Halloween. But, babies and kids in costume? Love them. The peanut is super cute in her dragon costume.

Jesus, she is so cute! And only the Peanut could pull off a poncho so fashionably. What a chic girl! ;)

Awww, she's adorable!
And, I agree - Halloween is totally a day to let out the hoochie-momma in us all. But, yeah, it gets mighty old real quick. haha.

Peanut is so very adorable!
I'm not into Halloween either. Didn't dress up or anything yesterday, even though multiple co-workers offered to lend me costume pieces. I'd much rather wear my own clothes, thank you very much!

that's one of those vintage ponchos that you came upon! lovely!

i hate the "naughty nurse" and "naughty pirate" thing. this year, i saw a "sexy ghostbuster." and sometimes, i can't even tell what it's supposed to be. it's just trampy!

sexy ghostbuster?! that's quite possibly the stupidest thing i've ever heard of.

ANYHOO, i'm a halloween grinch myself and turn off the porch light at night so people think no one's home but peanut is tooooooooooooooooooooooo cute. if she doesn't melt your heart, you're just no human. :)

Yeah...when did Halloween become about getting drunk and getting laid? Sad. The hooch factor seems to get upped every year. However, dressing up the kiddies is too fun! Peanut looks super adorable as a dragon -- she's the one slaying -- slaying hearts with that smile. I think it's admirable that you're even still managing to find the time to shower.

That's the cutest dragon I've ever seen. :-) Halloween is much more fun when you have a kiddo!

Ahh, she's SO cute! That costume is great, and I love the picture of the two of you smiling. I've got to say though--best thing in the post? The yellow and white poncho. She's totally rockin' it.

What a cute costume! I hate all of the sexy/hoochie costumes. This year, I was a very demure ladybug. That should be a capital L for Lady. ;)

Awww, the 'nut is so cute! Love her smiling in that one picture. I'm with you on Halloween - never really got into it, even as a child.

love the little nut, not so little anymore, huh? i have been meaning to comment the last few times but how time gets away from us new mamas. things are interesting over here at the bean home...lots of fun, lots of work, too. thanks for the bday wishes and the comment about postpartum weight stuff....i am a halloween lover (due to the birthday timing) but this year the candy factor is killing me. no more candy! happy 7 months to the peanut...can you believe it?

I'm not sure I could have handled much more peanut cuteness - she is adorable!!

As for dressing up as adults, no-one told me the rule here was to dress as slutty as possible, I went zombie bride a few years back, apparently I scared the crap out of everyone. Barely anyone spoke to me all night, when they did, they were mean as hell to me - never again.

Ack! Cute overload! I know the showering thing is hard. I mean, you have the nap time to do it in, but you also have fifteen kajillion other things that you could be spending your time on, right?
