this post is brought to you by grand theft auto 4 which arrived on our doorstep this afternoon. hallelujah!

thanks to everyone for your warm wishes and support for the launch of popknits. it's been a labor of love for some time now and i'm really excited and especially nervous to see it live online and getting pattern proposals already! haven't seen any sock proposals yet, hint hint, but you never know what's going to come in the door in june.

anyway, let's get back to blog business. i have a small amount of progress to report.

mmmm, i love this fabric (by gleek.net)
mmmm, i love this fabric

flair is coming along nicely. i had one hiccup and had to frog back a little but not much. i did end up putting short row bust shaping in...

and i think it was a good idea! it fits well and will be even better once it's blocked (everything's a little tight right now.) i'm feeling positive about it.

one leg done, the other started (by gleek.net)

the peanut pants are creeping along slowly. i was on leg island there for a while, but i feel a renewed energy to knit them. they seem HUGE right now but according to the swatch they will shrink considerably.

garter stitch cuff (by gleek.net)

i opted for an easy peasy garter stitch cuff. nothing big here.

in other crafty news, i hope to sew this weekend! i've been meaning to drag out my sewing machine for over a week now but it just hasn't happened yet. i got some great fabric for skirts at brooklyn general.

new fabric (by gleek.net)
new fabric

and i also have one from the stash that i'm using (sorry no pic.) tonight, i'm casting on for elijah (ravelry) as well. there's a certain baby being born right now that will be lonely without it. hopefully i'll have some pics later this week.

here are a few peanut pics to end the post.. i love shots of her eating!

this is what cheese sauce in baby hair looks like (by gleek.net)
cheesy!

this is what she looks like after eating mac & cheese. the hair! yuck. i can never give her mac & cheese for lunch. it always has to be dinner so that she can be bathed afterward.

she went a little crazy with the lentils (by gleek.net)
messy

i gave her lentils recently. she sorta liked them but they ended up everywhere. next time, they will be mashed.

she loves books so much (by gleek.net)
books!

and she could spend hours looking at her books. it's one of her favorite activities!

Flair is looking great. That yarn really does create a nice fabric. And I love that the 'nut is so into reading!! You know who to ask when she starts to get bored of her old books and wants some new ones :)

I love the shimmer of that Artfibers more every time I see it-- WOW! Loving that pattern with that yarn :)

The Peanut is so darn cute! I love the lentils all over the place and the book reading. I saw my niece this weekend (she's almost 9mo) picking up and paging through one of those heavy cardboard books and loving it. It makes me smile to see the tiny humans reading! So darn cute. :)

Flair looks great! I think I have that same yarn in my stash!

She is so freaking cute - I can't believe my babe will be eating food one day. Seems so far off. Thanks for sharing.

Whenever you want on the get together - I'm free most days. ;-)

The sweater is coming right along, and I love the fabrics you've picked for your skirts. Too bad I can't wear anything like that to work! Maybe the pink one on the left, but that's it...

I just finished my flair this weekend and I really wished I had put in some short row shaping in the bust. Oh well. I'm having problems with the buttons but that's because I'm a little slow.

Good luck with yours!

Flare looks great! I like the idea of short row shaping--and it looks like you put in just the right amount to make it work. I have yet to try the bust shaping (though I should)--some examples I've seen on Rav go overboard and emphasize the bust way, way too much for my taste.

Hey Gleek!
'tis been awhile since I wandered on over; I'll have to come back more often. Have fun with GTA, and your kid is *adorable*!
