monday, oct 20

365.112

it was such a beautiful day that monday. took peanut to the park and all she wanted to do was ride the swings and go down the slide. two weeks prior she HATED the swings. toddlers are weird. it was also minty's first day in bay ridge! she came by to decompress and use the wifi. i'm so glad she's my new neighbor!

tuesday, oct 21

365.113

a cold day at home.

wednesday, oct 22

365.114 (grumpy)

woke up really grumpy and then my LL turned off the water so that they could replace a boiler downstairs. it was a tough day without water, but the workers were fast and i was able to get around to everything eventually.

thursday, oct 23

365.115 (working)

spent the evening working on popknits, backing up my computer, and watching star trek voyager (yes, i'm a geek, so what?) in the office while KP played call of duty 4.

it was also my mom's 60th birthday! happy birthday gamma!

friday, oct 24

365.116

tackled a mountain of laundry the likes of which i hope to never have to do again. i hate doing laundry.

saturday, oct 25

365.117 (got my chairs!)

my parents and brother came down to bay ridge for the day to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday. they brought my favorite chairs with them and they are now installed in the office. i can now knit in peace!

sunday, oct 26

365.118 (saving)

i took the initiative to go down to the hardware store and buy two 8-packs of CFL bulbs. i'm hoping to reduce our electricity bill by making the switch. we noticed that once i started staying home, our bill got out of control. our old place had built-in track lighting that i couldn't replace the bulbs in, but in our new place, i can replace them in almost every room! we'll see what november's bill is like.

I did replace most of our bulbs, but haven't noticed much :( Probably because con ed increased about 40% across the board at the same time. Looking forward to hearing what happens!

I hope the bulbs do their magic! We have been lucky with keeping our electricity down despite both being addicted to the computer (and me to baking... electric stove uses a goodly amount of power), but I think that is mostly because we're not home all the time. I shudder to imagine our bills if I worked from home!

You've been getting a lot done--does the new office help? It's looking good in there! I'm glad minty is around to keep you and Peanut company now too! Yay for good neighbors. :)

Seeing it in tweets didn't seem that much, but you were busy!
