i know that there are some readers (and lurkers) in brooklyn and i need some help. i need a pediatrician for the peanut. i’ve had some really bad luck with doctors lately so i REALLY need a recommendation. her first doctor who i loved moved to california. then the second doctor we saw left the practice. then the practice up and moved to brooklyn heights. so i found a new doctor but her bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired as does the office.. and they always make us wait 1.5 to 2 hours before seeing someone. i tried someone new today and they were even worse!! poor peanut. we waited over 1.5 hours to see the doctor, who wasn’t very nice, and then she got shots and was very late for her nap. it’s bad!! i really need a doctor that i can talk to about everything but i have no one!
so please, if you have a doctor you can recommend, please do. i’m at my wits end. (big thanks to sharon for already chiming in.. your doctor is pretty far away from me seeing as i don’t have a car, but i may just have to take her there anyway!)

I can’t comment on the Brooklyn area, but I can tell you that we found a good pediatrician for our 3 kids, then we moved… we decided to make the 30 mile trek to see him and if he/we moved farther than that, we’d still make the trek. Sometimes it’s worth the extra effort when you find something you like! Hope your search turns up the right person or practice, and soon!

Hmm, the only thing I can suggest is to take the bus – the B67 (the one that runs down 7th ave) to the B23. The 23 will take you down Cortelyou and leave you right by his office. Good luck!

Hope you find someone…our pediatrician is something that I forget to be grateful for, guess I should appreciate her, huh? It amazes me that they make you wait in a pediatrician’s office! You’d think they’d know that’s just asking for disaster (I’ve had to wait in my pediatrician’s office, too, so I can relate). I’m off to plan for my baby shoes making extravaganza this weekend.

We LOVED Dr. Glaser (and her partner, Dr Gordon is also terrific). Gordon and Glaser on 8th Ave in the slope…I don’t have the contact info at hand right now, since they aren’t our drs anymore, but you can find it readily on the Park Slope Parents site

I’m sorry I live on the wrong coast but I just really want to say that waiting for 1.5 or 2 hours for your baby’s appointment is absolutely unacceptable! Good luck in your search…

I’m planning on taking the Monkeybaby to Drs. G&G as well–they come very highly recommended from a friend of mine who is herself a pediatrician. Man, I hope they’re not the ones who made you wait 2 hours!!
