i have become a nighttime showering person all because it’s SO much easier to straighten my hair in the morning. a quick pass of the straight iron and voila! it’s looking fab.

tuesday, jan 13

tuesday night, we packed up for a quick 5 day jaunt to myrtle beach, south carolina. nothing intense, just a few days with my family. you can see the charleston photos here.

wednesday, jan 14

on our way to myrtle beach! watching the airplanes come and go is always a favorite pastime. i used to LOVE the airport. now i just slightly loathe it.

thursday, jan 15

our first day in myrtle beach was lovely. a little cold but we managed to do some grocery shopping and then go for a walk on the beach. i wish we could live at the beach all year round! here i am wearing the darkside cowl (ravelry) that i bound off on the plane ride down. i love it! i would say more, but it’s a cowl and all the details are on ravelry, if you’re interested in that sort of thing.

friday, jan 16

i had a crazy bad allergic reaction to my parents’ dog which just seals the deal on us ever getting a dog or cat. my eye was even more bloodshot than this when i woke up that morning (this was after visine.) i think that the dog affects my eyes and nose (lots of sneezing) and my parents’ cat affects my breathing. this is why i’m generally miserable when i visit them. must see an allergist.

saturday, jan 17

we went to charleston on friday and saw some of the city. i love it! very pretty with lots of beautiful houses with porches. ah, i love porches. we had lunch at an awesome thai place (called “aromas” on market street) and bought candy at the charleston candy kitchen. unfortunately the trip back to myrtle beach was marred by a cranky toddler. i’m not naming names or anything but i bet you can guess who it was!

my birthday and i’m 33. wahoo. we made the trip home from myrtle beach and i have to say that that is THE LAST TIME I WILL EVER TRAVEL ON MY BIRTHDAY. ugh. but we made it home in one piece and then i got to watch battlestar galactica with a gin and tonic.
