as a modern day knitter, i have spent countless hours online, pouring over magazines and books looking for suitable designs that are clean-cut and flattering with timeless qualities. it's my goal to knit things that will last! i spend so much of my free time on knitting and my spare dollars on top-quality fibers that i want to be able to pull my creations out of the closet years from now and still want to wear them. i think that other knitters out there feel the same way.
below you'll find a collection of patterns that i have either made myself or am distributing for others. some are free, others are not. there are also just links to patterns that i have found online, some i've tested and others i desperately want to get started on!
VINO ARM WARMERS

Materials – Cascade 220, 1 skein, US8 and US7 needles (two circulars, sets of DPNs, or one long circular using magic loop)
Measurements – n/a
Skill Level – Easy
Price – Free
i came up with this pattern after lusting after a pattern on wine and needles. i wanted to make my arm warmers long, though, and in the round so i came up with this incarnation. one skein of cascade 220 is all you'll need and you'll have plenty of yarn leftover. i would guess that you're only using about 185/190 yds for this rendition so, if you have less yarn, you can cut down the number of repeats and make shorter ones. or if you have the full 220 yds feel free to make the arm warmers a little longer! the only tricky thing about this pattern is the cable design which has you twisting stitches without a cable needle but once you get the hang of it, you can do it in your sleep.

this pattern is a re-tooled version of a pattern found on yesterknits.com. it makes a great starter garment for someone not quite wanting to make a sweater yet or a great in-between project for the experienced knitter. it requires very little seaming and no shaping. the specified yarn, lamb's pride bulky, is an afforable and extremely warm yarn; perfect for cold winter's day! see my original blog entries for more details.
